Permanent Residence Card Obtained Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals to Lawful Permanent Resident to Citizenship

We’ve helped many people apply for relief under Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals or more commonly referred to as DACA. One of our DACA clients later applied and received his lawful permanent residence card and just recently became a U.S. Citizen. We are now working with so he can apply for a visa to bring his mother to the U.S.

Extension of E2 Visa Approved Employment Visas
We’ve helped several employers with hiring foreign workers as well as E2 visa extensions for their employees. A manufacturer in Eastern North Carolina recently came to us for help. One of their key employees from Germany required an extension of their E2 visa. We worked with the employer contacting the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to ensure the extension was filed and approved.
    Obtained Citizenship Naturalization

We recently had a client from Yemen that did not pass their civics test on their first attempt. This happens from time to time but for the most part our clients do very well on their civics test. In this circumstance we worked with the client to improve their reading and writing in English. After several months they were able to re-take the civics test and passed. They are now a United States Citizen.

    Removal Proceedings Terminated Removal Proceedings

A client came to us in 2015 after being detained at the U.S. & Mexico border. She had lived in the U.S. since 1989 with no legal immigration status and had inadvertently left the U.S. at the US & Mexico border. She was immediately placed into removal proceedings and after several months she was released to await her court date. During our interview process we determined her circumstances qualified her for the Cancellation of Removal under the Nicaraguan Adjustment and Central American Relief Act (NACARA). We presented her case to the Immigration Judge. The Judge agreed with our opinion and terminated her removal proceedings. This allowed us to apply for her lawful permanent residence card. We are happy to report that she received her card in January 2019. After years of worry, she is now free to live, work and travel in the U.S.

Permanent Residence Card Obtained Violence Against Women Act

It’s not commonly known but men are also offered relief from the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). We had a gentleman from Mexico visit our office for help on his immigration status. Initially we talked about other forms of relief but after hearing his story we determined he was an excellent candidate for the VAWA program. The ability to provide documented proof of the mental or physical abuse is key in building a strong case. Applying in a timely manner is also critical. Wait too long and documented reports can get lost or considered irrelevant due to the amount of time that passed. In this case we were able to assist him in getting his lawful permanent residence card and in 5 years he will be able to apply for citizenship.
