Isa Gratacós-Padró is a magna cum laude graduate from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law, having earned her Juris Doctor in June 2002. Isa was admitted to the bar of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico in 2003, the United States District Court of Puerto in 2003, and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
As immigration counsel, Isa has successfully represented clients applying for a green card, U.S. citizenship, employment visas, and Deferred Action Childhood Arrivals before the following tribunals:
- Department of Homeland Security
- U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services
- Immigration and Customs Enforcement
- Department of State
- Immigration Courts Board of Immigration Appeals
- Executing Office of Immigration Review
Moreover, Isa advises various commercial entities on immigration procedures for employment as well as ensuring immigrant employees’ compliance with the Department of Labor’s recruiting stipulations. She has served as a Spanish-English interpreter for clients whose second language is English.
In addition to her experience as an immigration attorney, Isa practices Social Security Disability Law. Her prior legal experience boasts having represented a wealth of clients in complex commercial litigation, bankruptcy, real estate, environmental, mortgages and foreclosures, title and casualty insurance claims, and tax law. Isa has argued before the First Circuit United States Court of Appeals Bankruptcy Appellate Panel. She has litigated more than 300 trials and appellate hearings.
Isa is currently a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). When she is not avidly advising and representing clients, Isa enjoys spending time with her family and attending her children’s extra-curricular activities.
